Naxos (în greacă Νάξος, Náxos) este o insulă grecească din Marea Egee, aparținând arhipelagului Cyclades. Are 428 km² și 14.000 de locuitori, fiind cea mai mare dintre insulele Cicladelor. Reședința sa este orașul Naxos (sau Khora: 2.900 de locuitori). În mitologia greacă, conform unor legende legate de pseudo-Apolodor, este locul unde Tezeu se oprește după ce a ucis Minotaurul. Acolo o abandonează pe Ariadne, fiica regelui Minos, care este preluată a doua zi de Dionisos și dusă imediat la Lemnos. Într-o altă versiune a legendei, relatată pentru scurt timp de Homer în Odiseea, Artemis o ucide pe Ariadne pe "Dia, insula scăldată de râuri", pe care Diodorus Siculus o asimilează cu Naxos, dar este mult mai probabil să fie Dia de astăzi, de-a lungul coastei nordice a Cretei. Cert este că insula l-a venerat pe Dionisos, patronul viței de vie, care era principala sa cultură.
