Cozumel é uma ilha no Mar do Caribe, ao largo da costa leste da Península de Yucatán, no México, oposta a Playa del Carmen e próxima ao Canal de Yucatán. A principal cidade da ilha é San Miguel de Cozumel. As ilhas pertencem ao município de Cozumel, no estado de Quintana Roo, México. Existem vários clubes de praia que oferecem snorkeling e as principais atrações são os recifes ao largo e as diversas lojas de mergulho.
Cozumel também oferece vários sítios arqueológicos maias. Os vestígios mais extensos são os de "San Gervasio", um local no interior a poucas milhas ao norte da rodovia "Carretera Transversal". Outro local está situado perto da vila de El Cedral, no interior da rodovia "Carretera Costera Sur". No Parque Punta Sur, na ponta sul da ilha, encontra-se o templo "El Caracol", acredita-se que tenha sido usado como um farol pelos maias.
