Cozumel to wyspa na Morzu Karaibskim, u wschodniego wybrzeża meksykańskiego półwyspu Jukatan, naprzeciwko Playa del Carmen i blisko Kanału Jukatańskiego. Głównym miastem na wyspie jest San Miguel de Cozumel. Wyspa należy do gminy Cozumel w stanie Quintana Roo w Meksyku. Na wyspie znajduje się wiele klubów plażowych oferujących nurkowanie z rurką, a głównymi atrakcjami są rafy koralowe oraz liczne sklepy nurkowe. Cozumel oferuje również kilka stanowisk archeologicznych związanych z kulturą Majów. Najbardziej rozległe pozostałości znajdują się w "San Gervasio", miejscu położonym kilka mil na północ od autostrady "Carretera Transversal". Kolejne stanowisko znajduje się w pobliżu wioski El Cedral, w głębi lądu od autostrady "Carretera Costera Sur". W Parku Punta Sur, na południowym krańcu wyspy, znajduje się świątynia "El Caracol", która według wierzeń Majów była używana jako latarnia morska.
