Ischia is een vulkanisch eiland in de Tyrreense Zee. Het ligt aan de noordkant van de Golf van Napels. Het is het grootste van de Flegreïsche eilanden. De belangrijkste industrie is het toerisme en concentreert zich op thermale baden die vooral gericht zijn op Europese (vooral Duitse) en Aziatische toeristen die graag willen genieten van de vruchten van de natuurlijke vulkanische activiteit van het eiland, de warmwaterbronnen en de vulkanische modder. Botanische Tuin met een van de rijkste collecties cactussen en vetplanten die buiten in Europa worden gekweekt. • Het kasteel. • Guevara-toren • Thermische bronnen. De thermale bronnen van Ischias zijn al sinds de oudheid bekend en zijn door veel Italiaanse en buitenlandse wetenschappers getest op hun therapeutische eigenschappen. Het thermale water wordt niet alleen gebruikt in baden en thermale tuinen, maar je kunt het ook vinden in kleine bronnen op sommige stranden en in stromende stromen waar heet water de zee in spuit, evenals stoomtuiten met gassen die uit scheuren in de grond stromen.
