Seattle is a significant coastal port and the administrative center of King County, in the state of Washington. Seattle is situated on seven hills including Capitol Hill, First Hill, West Seattle, Beacon Hill, Magnolia, Denny Hill and Queen Anne. The Kitsap and the Olympic peninsulas along with the Olympic Mountains are located to the west of Puget Sound, while the Cascade Range and Lake Sammamish are to the east of Lake Washington. A notable feature of Seattle's skyline is the Space Needle. The view from the top is breathtaking with a revolving restaurant, undoubtedly Seattle's most renowned landmark. Mount Rainier, which towers over Seattle, is 50 miles from the city. There's a national park with camping and hiking activities. One of Seattle's most frequented attractions is Pike Place Market. The farmer's market is over a century old and still retains local charm. The Seattle Aquarium exhibits a wide range of vibrant marine species. To revisit Seattle's history, visit the city's oldest neighborhood around Pioneer Square. Additionally, it's filled with thrilling night clubs, restaurants and galleries. The Municipality and Borough of Skagway is a first-class borough in Alaska on the Alaska Panhandle. As of the 2010 census, the population was 968, with estimates putting the 2019 population at 1,183. The population doubles in the summer tourist season to accommodate more than 1,000,000 visitors each year. Incorporated as a borough on June 25, 2007, it was previously a city (urban Skagway located at 59°27′30″N 135°18′50″W) in the Skagway–Yakutat–Angoon Census Area (now the Hoonah–Angoon Census Area, Alaska).

Ketchikan is a city and the borough seat of the Ketchikan Gateway Borough in Alaska. It is the state's southeasternmost major settlement, and its downtown is listed as a National Historic District. At the 2010 census, the city had a population of 8,050, making it the fifth-most populous city in Alaska and the tenth-most populous community when census-designated places are included. The surrounding borough—which includes suburbs north and south of the city along the Tongass Highway, as well as small rural settlements accessible mostly by water—had a population of 13,477 in the same census, with U.S. Census estimates placing the 2019 population at 13,901. Incorporated on August 25, 1900, Ketchikan is the oldest existing incorporated city in Alaska, as consolidation or unification elsewhere in the state dissolved other city governments. Located on Revillagigedo Island—named in 1793 by Captain George Vancouver—Ketchikan takes its name from Ketchikan Creek, which flows through town into Tongass Narrows. The word “Ketchikan” derives from the Tlingit name for the creek, Kitschk-hin, a term of uncertain meaning that may translate to “the river belonging to Kitschk” or “Thundering Wings of an Eagle.” In modern Tlingit, the name is Kichx̱áan.
