Peniche, una città costiera nella regione centrale del Portogallo, è ricca di cultura, tradizioni e risorse naturali. La città è in parte circondata dalle mura del XVI secolo. Sul lato sud vicino al mare, puoi vedere la fortezza chiamata Piazza Fort Peniche (Praça-forte Peniche) del XVI secolo, usata come prigione durante il regime di Salazar.
