The Bahama Islands are a chain of around 2,000 islands, including the cays, which are tiny islands formed on coral reefs. Nassau, located on New Providence, is the capital of the Bahamas and showcases a blend of vibrant Neo-colonial 19th century structures and contemporary hotel resorts. Nassau is positioned at the northern tip of New Providence, overlooking the bay between the main island and Paradise Island. The vast majority of the nation's inhabitants reside in Nassau on New Providence Island and in the Freeport region on Grand Bahama.
Nassau boasts a blend of vibrant Neo-colonial 19th century architecture and modern hotel resorts. The colonial charm of Nassau's Historical Town is worth exploring. The pink Parliament Building, adorned with a statue of a seated Queen Victoria at the front, is Nassau's most stunning sight. The Pirate Museum is another major attraction in Nassau. This interactive museum narrates the history of pirates. The City of Nassau is beautifully landscaped in a tropical setting. The local vegetation is absolutely captivating, and the variety of tropical plants preserved here certainly enhances the country's allure.
The Bahama Islands draw tourists with their pleasant climate and relaxed lifestyle, their stunning and vibrant nature, their crystal-clear blue waters, and their hospitable residents.

Day 7
bimini, bahamas
Arrival: 08:00
-
Departure: 17:00
Bimini is the westernmost district of the Bahamas, made up of a chain of islands located about 80 kilometers (50 miles) due east of Miami. It is the closest point in the Bahamas to the mainland United States and lies approximately 210 kilometers (130 miles) west-northwest of Nassau. The population was 1,988 as of the 2010 census.
Bimini consists of three islands: North Bimini, South Bimini, and East Bimini. The two largest are North Bimini and South Bimini. The main settlement is Alice Town, a lively strip of shops, restaurants, and bars along a road known as “The King’s Highway.” A second main road, Queen’s Highway, runs almost the length of the island parallel to King’s Highway.
South Bimini is home to South Bimini Airport and offers a quieter alternative to the slower-paced bustle of North Bimini. A small residential community on South Bimini, called Port Royale, borders the water. For many years, tourism on South Bimini was mostly limited to boaters, as there were few accommodations other than private homes.
Because Bimini is so close to Miami, Florida, many American anglers travel there by boat to fish or enjoy the local nightlife. Scuba diving and snorkeling are also popular, thanks to numerous shipwrecks in the area, including the wreck of the SS Sapona, which ran aground during a 1926 hurricane. The top of the ship remains above water while the lower half is submerged. Over the years, parts of the wreck were salvaged, and some of the wood was used in the construction of the Compleat Angler Hotel and bar on North Bimini.
