About the destination

Salou is a tourist and residential city that has established itself as the capital of the Costa Daurada through the diversity of its offerings and the quality and quantity of its tourist facilities. From Salou, it's easy to visit other places. It's very close to the cities of Barcelona and Tarragona. Apart from its lovely beaches and beautiful promenade, one of its main attractions is the Port Aventura resort, which includes a theme park, water park and four hotels. Salou's main street is Paseo Jaime I, lined with palm trees from one end to the other and filled with a wide variety of flowers and plants. On the mosaic that decorates the ground, you can find a series of heraldic shields of some of the noblemen who accompanied King James I to Majorca. The area between the promenade and the beach provides all the necessary facilities and services, as well as flower gardens and fountains, ideal for a leisurely stroll. At the weekends, there's a laser show of the fountains as they dance to the music. Salou has a beautiful seafront that takes you along the beautiful beaches. The lovely beaches, its friendly people, its great climate and the quality facilities have all helped to make Salou the capital of the Costa Daurada and to earn it the top spot for family tourist destinations in Catalonia.
