Day 4
airlie beach - qld - australia
Arrival: 07:00 - Departure: 16:00
Airlie Beach is a town in the Whitsunday Region of Queensland, Australia. At the 2011 census, the town of Airlie Beach itself had a population of 7,868. Airlie Beach is one of several departure points for trips to the Great Barrier Reef. Lying close to latitude 20 degrees south, Airlie Beach, Proserpine and the nearby Whitsunday Islands enjoy a tropical climate and an easygoing lifestyle. The Whitsunday Islands, named by James Cook in 1770, are a sailor’s paradise. Cook named the islands because he believed he passed through the area on the Christian festival day of Whit Sunday. It is now widely accepted that he did not actually pass through on this date, as he failed to allow for what would later become the International Date Line, à la Phileas Fogg. Each year, the residents of Airlie Beach celebrate the Blessing of the Fleet on Whit Sunday, or Pentecost Sunday.

Cairns is a regional city, founded in 1876, encompassing smaller townships in the far north of Queensland, Australia. It is a popular travel destination for foreign tourists because of its tropical climate. It serves as a starting point for people wanting to visit the Great Barrier Reef and Far North Queensland. MAIN TOURIST ATTRACTIONS • Centenary Lakes. Collins Ave/Edge Hill, opposite the Botanic Gardens. Rainforest boardwalk that goes directly through the forest and ends at several small lakes and creeks. There is also a little park with picnic areas. Caution: The lakes are crocodile habitat. • City Botanic Gardens. • Lake Placid. • Mount Whitfield Conservation Park. • Northern Beaches There is no beach in Central Cairns, but there are several beaches in the north that can easily be reached by bus. Day 6
port douglas, australia
Arrival: 07:00 - Departure: 18:00
Port Douglas is less than an hour’s drive from Cairns along one of Australia’s most picturesque coastal roads. With golden beaches and some of the most exclusive resorts in tropical North Queensland, Port Douglas – once a quiet fishing village – is sophisticated yet relaxed, and the perfect place to get away from it all. Stroll along Macrossan Street, the heart of the village, and enjoy its elegant restaurants, bars, cafés, boutiques, bookshops and galleries. Treat yourself in designer shops or indulge in one of the luxurious daytime spas. At one end of Macrossan Street you’ll find the magnificent palm-fringed Four Mile Beach, a spectacular spot to watch the sunset. At the other end is Anzac Park, home to the picturesque St Mary’s by the Sea chapel and the weekly Sunday markets. Port Douglas is also ideal for family holidays full of fun and adventure. Learn to snorkel, dive, jet ski, water-ski or kayak to deserted beaches. Cruises to the Great Barrier Reef depart daily from Mirage Marina, visiting sites regarded as some of the most pristine on the reef. Take a day trip to Low Isles on a luxury sailing yacht, or venture further out to the outer reef. Soak up the stunning scenery by helicopter or enjoy a scenic flight by seaplane.
darwin, australia

Day 9
darwin, australia
Arrival: 08:00 - Departure: 18:00
Darwin is the capital city of the Northern Territory in Australia. Sitting on the Timor Sea, it’s the largest city in the sparsely populated Northern Territory. It’s also the smallest and most northerly of Australia’s capital cities, acting as the main regional centre for the Top End. Because it’s so close to South East Asia, Darwin is an important Australian gateway to countries like Indonesia and East Timor. The Stuart Highway starts in Darwin and runs all the way to Port Augusta in South Australia. The city itself is built on a low rise looking out over the harbour. Beyond Berrimah, the Stuart Highway continues on to Darwin’s satellite city, Palmerston, and its suburbs. MAIN TOURIST ATTRACTIONS • Darwin Wharf Precinct. • Fannie Bay Gaol – its grim and oppressive past is still very noticeable as you walk through. • Burnett House at Myilly Point – Burnett designed houses suited to the Top End climate, using lightweight materials and natural ventilation. • Browns Mart – a stone building opened in 1885 as the shop ‘Solomon’s Emporium’. • Bicentennial Park – a lovely strip of parkland along The Esplanade looking out over Darwin Harbour. • George Brown Darwin Botanic Gardens – just a short walk from the city centre, 42 hectares of gardens featuring local plants and species from other tropical regions around the world. • Lake Alexander – a great place for year-round swimming, also popular for picnics and barbecues. • Casuarina Coastal Reserve – covers 1,500 hectares, including 8 km of sandy beaches edged by striking cliffs. • Charles Darwin National Park.

Day 12
benoa - bali - indonesia
Arrival: 07:00 - Departure: 21:00
The southern part of Bali, although generally chaotic and overly touristy, boasts the best beaches on the island and several interesting sightseeing tours, so if you travel to this destination, I recommend you spend at least three full days there. If Bali is too crowded, the area of Kuta and its surroundings takes the biscuit: it was here where the first travellers arrived in search of surf and they also found a paradise to export. But despite the noise and the fact that Balinese culture is not as prevalent as in other areas, Kuta and its surroundings can also be enjoyed. Legian street is lovely, ideal for buying souvenirs or a dress while haggling with the locals; The beach is perfect for surfing and the best place to watch it, as it's full of surfers at all hours!; And the sunset is an event that you can't miss. The locals flock to the beach in droves, many of whom want to take photos with you, play football or simply swim; And spontaneous bars are set up with fresh beers and crates as local bars. There are beautiful sunsets that are harmless. Of course, the local lifestyle is shorter than in other parts of the island, or at least not so integrated, so don't expect to find a nice market or a temple on every corner.
