About the destination

Salou is a tourist and residential city that has consolidated as capital of the Costa Daurada through the diversity of its offer and the quality and quantity of its tourism facilities. From Salou it is easy to visit other places. It is very close to the cities Barcelona and Tarragona. Aside from its lovely beaches and its beautiful promenade, one of its main attraction is the Port Aventura resort that includes a theme park, aquatic park and four hotels. Salou main street is the Paseo Jaime I with palm trees which line the promenade from one end to the other and full of a wide variety of flowers and plants. On the mosaic, which decorates the ground, we can find a series of heraldic shields of some of the noblemen who accompanied King James I to Majorca. The area between the promenade and the beach provides all the necessary facilities and services, as well as flower gardens and fountains, ideal for taking a leisurely stroll. At the weekends, there is a laser show of the fountains as they dance to the music. Salou has a beautiful sea front that takes you along the beautiful beaches. The lovely beaches, its friendly people, its great climate and the quality facilities have all helped to turn Salou into the capital of the Costa Daurada and to earn it the top spot for family tourist destinations in Catalonia.
