Over de bestemming

De Douro Vallei zou ook wel een betoverde vallei genoemd kunnen worden vanwege de schoonheid en betovering die haar landschappen bieden. Vertrekkend vanuit Porto, waar de rivier stroomt en waar de Douro en Porto wijnen worden geproduceerd, kunnen we dit Culturele Landschap, geclassificeerd als Werelderfgoed, leren kennen: over de weg, per trein, op een cruiseschip, of zelfs per helikopter. Geen van hen zal ons onverschillig laten. Op een reis door de uitkijkpunten die de beste uitzichten bieden, zullen we de rivier van noord naar zuid en vice versa moeten oversteken. Maar onderweg kunnen we prachtige uitzichten over de rivier bewonderen en wijngaarden, steden en dorpen bezoeken tot we Miranda do Douro bereiken, waar de rivier Portugal binnenkomt.
