Hersonissos est une destination de vacances très populaire parmi les Allemands, les Néerlandais, les Serbes et les Irlandais. Donc, si vous terminez ici, vous rencontrerez de nombreuses langues et coutumes. La zone portuaire est très populaire parmi les Allemands et les Irlandais, de ce fait, vous trouverez des pubs irlandais traditionnels. Sur le côté est de la ville se trouvent des hôtels, des magasins et des bars. Les plages sont magnifiques et de la ville, vous pouvez faire plusieurs excursions vers des sites intéressants en Crète. Il y a un petit aquarium, Aquaworld, idéal pour visiter les enfants, et un musée à ciel ouvert, Lychnostatis, où est recréé un village crétois traditionnel. Apparemment, il y a beaucoup d'activités pour les enfants mais aussi pour les adultes. Les activités pour adultes sont données le soir car la variété et l'activité des bars, restaurants et discothèques sont incroyables. Et pour les amoureux de l'histoire, il y a quelques ruines romaines, grecques et byzantines
