Islantilla Spain

Islantilla is a beach and resort community created by the coastal municipalities of Isla Cristina and Lepe, located in the province of Huelva, Andalusia, on the so‑called Costa de la Luz in southwestern Spain. The joint community was founded in 1991 with the goal of becoming one of the leading tourist destinations in the province of Huelva. It is located between Urbasur Beach to the west and La Antilla to the east. Its name comes from combining Isla Cristina and La Antilla. In 2010 it had 1,261 inhabitants, divided between 528 in Isla Cristina and 733 in Lepe. It forms a continuous urban area of more than 5 kilometers in length, stretching from Urbasur to La Antilla.
