Puerto de la Cruz - Tenerife North Spain

Puerto de la Cruz is a region located on the north of the island of Tenerife. Declared of Tourist Interest in 1955, it combines in appealing harmony both the traditional architecture of the island and the modernity. The coastal area houses several of the city's main attractions, such as the old harbour, the promenade and the Lago Martiánez complex of swimming pools designed by the Canary Islands architect César Manrique. Loro Parque is a zoo situated on the outskirts of Puerto de la Cruz, where there is a wide and diverse reserve of animal and plant species.
