Porlezza Italy

Porlezza is a town on Lake Lugano in the Province of Como, in the Lombardy region of northern Italy. It lies about 60 kilometres north of Milan and about 25 kilometres north of Como. Porlezza shares its borders with the municipalities of Bene Lario, Carlazzo, Claino con Osteno, Corrido, Lenno, Ossuccio, Ponna, Val Rezzo and Valsolda. From 1873 to 1939, Porlezza was connected to Menaggio on Lake Como by the Menaggio–Porlezza railway, a steam-hauled narrow-gauge line that formed part of a multi-modal transport route between Menaggio and Luino on Lake Maggiore.
