Vilamoura Portugal

Vilamoura is an unincorporated resort area on Portugal’s southern coast, and is one of the largest single tourist complexes in Europe, covering around 2,000 hectares. The nearest airport is in Faro. Vilamoura forms one of the three points of what is now known as the Algarve’s Golden Triangle. From 1996 to 2003, the area hosted the annual Almond Blossom Cross Country competition, and the same course was used as the venue for the 2000 IAAF World Cross Country Championships.
