Arnarstapi Iceland

Arnarstapi is a small village on the southern side of the Snæfellsnes peninsula. The area has several old, charming houses with their own stories and is well known for its beautiful natural surroundings. The beach at Arnarstapi is a particular highlight. It features an eroded circular stone arch called Gatklettur, where the combination of dramatic waves and sunlight creates a mesmerising sight. Large colonies of Arctic terns nest in the area too, making it especially popular with photographers. An old horse trail through the Hellnahraun lava field is now a much‑loved hiking route, thanks to the striking landscape that surrounds it.
