Guadeloupe, located southeast of Puerto Rico, is a group of islands in the eastern Caribbean and is actually part of France. Dubbed Butterfly Island because of the shape of two of its major islands, Guadeloupe archipelago is home to a fabulous underwater world. Guadeloupe’s two main islands are Basse Terre and Grande Terre. Basse Terre is less touristy and is home to the Guadeloupe National Park consisting of a rain forest, a large volcano and lots of waterfalls. Grande Terre is where the country’s capital, Pointe-à-Pitre, is located as well as a string of beach towns to enjoy plenty of activities and touristic amenities. In Grande Terre you will find great white beaches while on Basse Terre, you will find great black beaches full of volcanic sand.Guadeloupe is surprisingly diverse and offers a perfect vacation spot, whatever your preferences. White or black beaches, great sea, calm to explore the amazing assortment of tropical fish or with bigger waves to enjoy water sports. There is plenty of nature to explore outside the water as well, walking in tropical forest or along the cliffs, admiring the volcano, visiting the plantations, colonial architecture and a long etcetera.

Santo Domingo is the capital city of the Dominican Republic. Located on the south central coast of the island, it is considered the oldest European city in the Americas.The Colonial Zone is the perfect starting point for visitors to discover Santo Domingo. Here, between Independence Park and the Ozama River, you will find the first city built in the New World by European settlers. The first street in the Americas is Calle de Las Damas, featuring many examples of 15th and 16th century architecture, including the Ozama Fortress, the oldest fortress in the Americas, and the Alcázar de Colón. Of great historical interest is the Museo de las Casas Reales, the restored 16th century palace of the Spanish Court, which features a wonderful glimpse of the past. Nearby the walled city, visitors will find the Cathedral Basilica Santa Maria la Menor, considered the first cathedral in the New World. While touring the narrow streets of the Colonial Zone, visitors will feel that history comes alive here. The Zone ends at the Malecón. La Romana is the third-largest city in the Dominican Republic with a population estimated at 130,426 within the city limits. It’s a capital of the southeastern province of La Romana, opposite Catalina Island. The city is near several other cities, such as San Pedro de Macorís and the national capital, Santo Domingo de Guzmán. The city is a hub for a growing tourist industry with several nearby local resort spots, such as the beachfront Bayahibe, Dominicus, Casa de Campo, and the growing number of golf resorts that surround the area. A very popular way of getting around the town is through riding motor bikes as well as gua guas that's another name for buses. You must visit Altos de Chavon, this "village" was done replicating the 15th century colonial architectural style. Has many restaurants, a museum with Taino artifacts, breath-taking view of the Chavon River. This is a charming replica of the Italian village that was built by a man as a gift for his daughter. Also, artists ranging from Sinatra to Cocoband have performed at its large amphitheatre.
