Lovely family-fun hotel

Lovely family-fun hotel. The room was nice with three beds, a sink, fridge and a balcony. The shower worked fine and wifi downstairs was good. The pool was excellent, clean and with a good range of depth. The host was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good value and drinks were available from the fridges throughout.

For a trip on a budget, this was a great hotel. Staff were all welcoming and friendly, a very family atmosphere. Room was clean, bed comfy, little lounge area with kitchenette (fridge, sink and kettle), and a little terrace looking out on pool. Bathroom entertaining as the shower curtain has a mind of its own, and the bin gets used a lot.

I came here in mid February until the first week of March. First time, though I have been coming to Crete for the last 12 years. I was looking for a place from which I could move easily in the Heraklion region. I was here for business. The location is perfect as it is very close to the sea, close to the main routes of communication, and very quiete, at least in this period. In Summer of course it becomes populated, I guess, but that is good becaouse the area becomes vibrant and exciting. There many shops, there are Supermarkets near by (one of them is very famous in all Europe, even in London). Petrol stations are very frequent in this area. Although you do not see it and do not hear it, the motorway is just 3 minutes from here, and it is very convenient if you want to go here and there, especially when exploring sites in Summer, or for business reasons. Parking is very easy and just at the Hotel premises. The personnel is very nice and friendly. There is a very nice swiming pool, but I couldn't use it this time. Near here there are a lot of sites that need to be seen, do not miss them. Last, but not least, the price has been quite good. Really convenient. So, all in all, I had a very good experience at this Hotel, and I suggest it to you very much. Fabio

Heraklion, Hellas

Heraklion er hovedstaden på Kreta og vanligvis utgangspunktet for feriebesøkende som ønsker å utforske øya. Med omtrent 130 000 innbyggere, er det den femte største byen i Hellas. Byen er preget av forskjellige påvirkninger fra venetianere, sarasenere og grekere. Historien er veldig levende i Heraklion, akkurat som i de fleste greske byer. Rundt den gamle delen av byen kan en besøkende gå langs de gamle venetianske murene som møtes ved en bastion, kalt Koules festning, som dominerer den gamle havnen i byen. Venetianerne begynte byggingen av bymurene i 1462, og det tok mer enn et århundre å fullføre. Murene er omtrent 4 km lange og av en trekantet form med syv bastioner og er nå et av byens ikoner. Den sentrale plassen, omgitt av butikker, kafeer og restauranter, domineres av løvenes fontene, bygget av en venetiansk guvernør på 1700-tallet. Det arkeologiske museet i Heraklion er imponerende og er byens stolthet og glede. Utstillingene er tilfredsstillende grundige og godt lagt ut, alle aspekter av livet på Kreta fra forhistorisk tid til romertiden er dekket i en serie romslige gallerier. Palasset i Knossos er det nest mest populære turiststedet i hele Hellas, kun slått av Akropolis, stedet er i utrolig god stand og det er mye å se. Det ligger også i en vakker setting med flott utsikt over landskapet. Heraklion tilbyr et stort utvalg av historiske og arkeologiske ferieattraksjoner, inkludert sitt verdensberømte museum og det nærliggende stedet Knossos, hjertet av den gamle minoiske sivilisasjonen. Strandlinjen i byen, Amoudara, er en tre kilometer lang stripe med sandstrand, mange kafeer, barer og hoteller og stedet for Technopolis, en moderne flerkinokino og friluftsteater. De vakreste strendene utenfor byen finnes i Kartero og Malia.
