Even if the residence has been recently refurnished to provide the rooms with all the modern comforts, you can still breathe the intimate love for antiques and art objects.A quiet, elegant and relaxing atmosphere will take you back to ancient times in the marvellous setting of the Amalfi Coast. This B&B is at the second floor of an historic building without lift. The restaurant is external at the hotel.

I am not one to post negative comments, but this time, here it goes. First, the entrance of the hotel is horrendous dark, old and dirty is part of a building where other people live it seems. You have climb 4 (four) flights of stairs no elevator. They claim is a second floor - NOT TRUE. It 4 flights of stairs and when you get there, no help. A little sign that you have to go the reception at another hotel 1 block away. (So you go down 4 flights of stairs to climb them up again. Because they couldnt have a sign at the entrance of the building, right?) And then you get a room that have to climb one more flight of stairs for a 5th starcase but this one through half construction, full of dust and smells cement. In summary, just NO.

Olld fashoned place .

The service was good :Maria Grazia , the lady who served us breakfast in the morning was very courteous . The hotel is in a central position ,close to the ferry boats to tour the Amalfi coast .

L'origen de la ciutat és incert, encara que probablement va ser fundada pels etruscos. Va ser conquerida pels romans al segle III aC, i es va anomenar Rheginna Maior, en contrast amb la ciutat veïna, Minori, Rheginna Minor. Tots els llocs al llarg de la costa es van formar per conqueridors alternants, com ara els etruscos o els romans. Entre 830 i 840, les ciutats de la costa entre Lettere i Tramonti i Cetara i Positano, incloent l'illa de Capri, es van unir per formar una confederació d'estats coneguda més tard com el Ducat d'Amalfi. Cada ciutat va retenir el seu propi nom i autonomia administrativa, però tenia un paper específic en aquesta federació. Maiori era la seu de l'almirallat del ducat, la duana, el mercat de la sal i diversos arsenals.
