Lovely family-fun hotel

Lovely family-fun hotel. The room was nice with three beds, a sink, fridge and a balcony. The shower worked fine and wifi downstairs was good. The pool was excellent, clean and with a good range of depth. The host was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good value and drinks were available from the fridges throughout.

For a trip on a budget, this was a great hotel. Staff were all welcoming and friendly, a very family atmosphere. Room was clean, bed comfy, little lounge area with kitchenette (fridge, sink and kettle), and a little terrace looking out on pool. Bathroom entertaining as the shower curtain has a mind of its own, and the bin gets used a lot.

I came here in mid February until the first week of March. First time, though I have been coming to Crete for the last 12 years. I was looking for a place from which I could move easily in the Heraklion region. I was here for business. The location is perfect as it is very close to the sea, close to the main routes of communication, and very quiete, at least in this period. In Summer of course it becomes populated, I guess, but that is good becaouse the area becomes vibrant and exciting. There many shops, there are Supermarkets near by (one of them is very famous in all Europe, even in London). Petrol stations are very frequent in this area. Although you do not see it and do not hear it, the motorway is just 3 minutes from here, and it is very convenient if you want to go here and there, especially when exploring sites in Summer, or for business reasons. Parking is very easy and just at the Hotel premises. The personnel is very nice and friendly. There is a very nice swiming pool, but I couldn't use it this time. Near here there are a lot of sites that need to be seen, do not miss them. Last, but not least, the price has been quite good. Really convenient. So, all in all, I had a very good experience at this Hotel, and I suggest it to you very much. Fabio

Heraklion és la capital de Creta i sol ser el punt de partida per als visitants de vacances que volen explorar l'illa. Amb uns 130.000 habitants, és la cinquena ciutat més gran de Grècia. La ciutat està marcada per diferents influències de venecians, sarraïns i grecs. La història està molt viva a Heraklion, com a la majoria de ciutats gregues. Al voltant de la part antiga de la ciutat, un visitant pot caminar seguint les antigues muralles venecianes que es troben en un baluart, anomenat Fortalesa de Koules, que domina el vell port de la ciutat. Els venecians van començar la construcció de les muralles de la ciutat el 1462 i van trigar més d'un segle a completar-les. Les muralles tenen uns 4 km de longitud i una forma triangular amb set baluards i ara és un dels icones de la ciutat. La plaça central, envoltada de botigues, cafeteries i restaurants, està dominada per la font dels Lleons, construïda per un governador venecià al segle XVII. El Museu Arqueològic de Heraklion és impressionant i és l'orgull i la joia de la ciutat. Les exposicions són satisfactòriament completes i ben disposades, tots els aspectes de la vida a Creta des de la prehistòria fins al període romà es cobreixen en una sèrie de galeries espaioses. El Palau de Cnossos és el segon lloc turístic més popular de tota Grècia, només superat per l'Acropoli, el lloc està en un estat increïble i hi ha molt a veure. També es troba en un entorn bonic amb grans vistes sobre el camp. Heraklion ofereix una àmplia gamma d'atraccions històriques i arqueològiques de vacances, incloent el seu famós museu i el proper lloc de Cnossos, cor de l'antiga civilització minoica. La línia de costa de la ciutat, Amoudara, és una franja de platja de sorra de tres quilòmetres, amb moltes cafeteries, bars i hotels i el lloc de Technopolis, un modern cinema multiplex i teatre a l'aire lliure. Les platges més boniques fora de la ciutat es troben a Kartero i Malia.
