Hellnar, Iceland

Hellnar Iceland

For hundreds of years, Hellnar was one of the biggest fishing communities located under the Snaefellsjokull glacier. Valasnos, an independent rock formation, stretches to the east of the bay. One of Iceland's most unusual caves, Badstofa, is located there. It is renowned for its unique lighting and vibrant interior. The Hellnar church was constructed in 1945 on a scenic location where a church was initially erected in 1833.
