Hellnar, Iceland

Hellnar Iceland

For centuries, Hellnar was one of the largest fishing villages under the Snaefellsjokull ice cap. Valasnos, a standalone rock, stretches east of the bay. One of Iceland's most unusual caves, Badstofa, is located there. It is renowned for its unique light exposure and colourful interior. The Hellnar church was constructed in 1945 on a scenic site where a church was first erected in 1833.
